COMMERCIAL ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATE
A Commercial Energy Performance Certificate or Non-Domestic EPC shows the level of energy efficiency of a building or property. This level is marked between A to G where A is the greatest and G is the least level of energy efficiency. From 1st April 2018, a minimum rating of “E” is required to let or sell your property.
Commercial Energy Performance Certificate will be required in case:
Commercial Energy Performance Certificate Exemptions
- listed or officially protected and the minimum energy performance requirements would unacceptably alter it
- a temporary building only going to be used for 2 years or less
- used as a place of worship or for other religious activities
- an industrial site, workshop or non-residential agricultural building that doesn’t use much energy
- a detached building with a total floor space under 50 square metres
- due to be demolished by the seller or landlord and they have all the relevant planning and conservation consents
The building is listed or under protection
Buildings and properties occupied for less than 24 months
Religious properties
Low energy consuming buildings used for agriculture or industrial reasons.
Separate units with less than 50 square meters of utilization area.
Properties that will be demolished in near future.
